This will be my Fifth year here at Dolphin Bay Elementary where I have been taught Kindergarten (4 years) and First grade (1 year). I graduated from Florida Atlantic Univeristy with a BA in Elementary Education and am currently studying Speech Language Pathology at Florida International University. Teaching has been a huge passion of mine ever since I was a child. My fourth grade teacher Mr. S greatly inspired me not just in the classroom but in life. He was a great role model to me and other students and I aim to be just like him in that manner. I believe that any child has the ability to accomplish all that they aim for as long as they are willing to try their hardest they will always have success.
I like to teach kids in the most fun way possible. I LOVE music and often use it to teach concepts and lessons. I often bring in my acoustic guitar and the children and I sing songs about any and all subjects in the classroom. I feel that this is a great way to make school fun and ultimately teach concepts to the children. I also am a huge believer in integrating technology in our students. As they grow technology will become more and more important in their lives and it is viable for them to learn and understand these tools that are at their disposal.
As stated earlier I am currently taking classes in the study of communication sciences and disorders. This is an area of huge interest of mine given my life story. As a child I was nonverbal until the age of 3. With out the hard work of a Speech Language Pathologist I might never have been able to communicate. I hope to give the gift of communication to ALL individuals as well as inspire those I meet to never give up.
